Jonas Classon has dedicated his life to photographing birds. At just 27 years old, he has made an incredible journey from battling severe illness in his youth to winning one of the world’s largest photo competitions. Now, his journey continues in his very own Dovra RIG X-610.

Jonas’s fascination with birds began with Whooper swans at Lake Tysslingen in Sweden, where thousands of them captivated him. This passion deepened during his three-year hospital stay, when a teacher named Nils took him out into nature, sparking his dream of becoming a bird photographer.

The turning point in his career came in 2019 when he captured a great grey owl in the moonlit forests near his home in Kumla. This photo won the prestigious Siena International Photo Awards in the “Animals in their Environment” category, chosen from 48,000 entries worldwide.

Jonas’s career took another leap when he became one of Canon’s ambassadors, joining an elite group of only three Swedish photographers. This role provides him with access to the latest technology, allowing him to push the boundaries of his craft.

With his new Dovra, Jonas gains unparalleled freedom in his photography work. He can effortlessly charge his camera batteries and reach remote locations. Waking up by a bird lake at 3:00 AM to capture the perfect light is no longer a challenge. If the light conditions aren’t ideal, he can simply go back to sleep and try again an hour later. “The Dovra revolutionizes my work. Jonas’s upcoming projects include a large, secretive Scandinavian venture and a major exhibition tour in Asia. “Both as a person and as a photographer, light has always been my focus, and it has never looked brighter than now,” he concludes.
